"My heroes are those who risk their lives every day to protect our world and make it a better place - police, firefighters and members of our armed forces." - Sidney Sheldon

When dealing with tragic events, investigating crimes, or responding to community needs, officers often require the assistance of professionals in dealing with the emotional and psychological needs of victims and families. The Lakeville Police Chaplaincy Services also provides an invaluable source of support for both police officers and their families in times of crisis and peace.

The Lakeville Police Department is privileged to have two experienced police chaplains who respect and honor the badge and the men and women who have earned the right to wear it. Police Chaplains Mark Bellows and Jeff Dexter spend many hours riding as active passengers with officers on patrol duty and pledge their ready availability to the needs of law enforcement officers and the community they serve.

Mark Bellows Director Mark Bellows has worked as a Lakeville police chaplain for 20 years, assisting officers with death notifications, locating services for families needing assistance, and providing comfort and support by listening and opening dialogue with officers and their families.
Jeff Dexter
Jeff Dexter is in his third year as a Lakeville police chaplain, bringing experience in dealing with drug abuse and the long term implications of drugs on families, as well as understanding the unique dynamics taking place when youth are involved in traumatic situations.

“In striving to provide the highest level of public safety services in crisis situations to our citizens, we have found the Police Chaplaincy Program to be an invaluable resource to our officers”
